Founder of Air, I thought I'd share my personal journey with you.

When I first stepped into a Pilates class 24 years ago, I didn’t feel strong. I was in daily pain.  When I climbed onto a trapeze 18 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. But step by step, with patience and practice, those foundations gave me confidence and joy.

What exactly is the Foundations in Focus 

 

Over 5 weeks, I’ll send you short, practical lessons to help you deepen your understanding of Pilates matwork and Aerial Pilates.

Think of it as a mini journey — a chance to learn, reflect, and feel inspired (with tips you can apply right away, even if you don’t have a hammock at home).

Each week we’ll focus on one area:

Week 1:  Breath & the Nervous System

Your breath is your anchor. Discover how conscious breathing regulates the nervous system, calms the mind, and sets the rhythm for safe, powerful movement in both matwork and aerial practice.

Week 2: Connection to Your Centre (The Powerhouse)

Your centre is your home base — your powerhouse. Learn how to connect with it deeply, building strength, stability, and confidence whether you’re on the mat or in the hammock. 

Week 3: Shoulders, Head & Neck — Releasing the Weight of the World

Ever feel like your brain has too many tabs open? We hold so much tension in the neck and shoulders. Explore how alignment + mindful release can create lightness in the head and freedom in your movement.

Week 4: Feet & Hips — Finding Your Roots

Your feet and hips are your foundation, your roots. By grounding here, you create the stability to rise taller, stronger — and even take flight. Just like a tree, rooted and steady, you can grow your wings.

Week 5: Why the Basics Matter — Foundations First

Foundations aren’t “just the basics” — they are the soil, the sun, the water that make everything else bloom. When you honour the fundamentals, growth flows naturally, with strength and joy.

 

Is this course right for me?


Yes — if you’re curious about Aerial Pilates but not yet ready to commit to the full certification. It’s also perfect for Pilates or fitness teachers wanting CPD, or anyone who wants a safe, affordable way to explore the basics before leaping all in.

I created this series because I know how powerful it is to feel good about the basics and build your confidence, with support. 

Think of it as your stepping stone into the Air Control Pilates® Teacher Training.  And if you’re feeling curious about diving deeper, this series will also give you a taste of my brand-new Foundational Mini-Training.

“What does it cost?”
Nothing at all — Foundations in Focus is free. It’s my gift to help you build confidence, explore your roots, and see if Aerial Pilates could be your next step

“I don’t have a hammock — can I still join?”
Absolutely! You don’t need a hammock. Each lesson is designed to be applied on the mat, in daily movement, or in the air if you have access. It’s about understanding foundations first.

“I don’t have time for another course.”
Good news: this isn’t a big course. Each email is short and digestible — just 10–15 minutes of reading + reflection per week. You can take it at your own pace, no pressure.

“I’m not a Pilates or Aerial teacher — is this for me?”
Yes! While Pilates teachers will find it valuable for CPD, it’s just as beneficial for anyone curious about movement foundations, Pilates principles, or exploring Aerial Pilates.

“How is this different from the Mini-Training?”
Foundations in Focus is a free, 5-week educational series — light, inspiring, and rooted in theory. The Foundational Mini-Training is a paid, 1-day live online event with practical hammock skills, spotting, and teaching foundations.

“What if I want to go further after the 5 weeks?”
That’s the beauty of it — this series is your stepping stone. You’ll have the chance to join the Mini-Training, and if you continue to the full Aerial Pilates Teacher Training, your investment carries forward..
